The evening began with a threat of rain and a scheduled doubleheader at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park in downtown Durham. The Durham Bulls are a Triple-A minor league baseball team that was made famous by the movie Bull Durham, starring Kevin Costner, Tim Robbins, and Susan Sarandon. This event was hosted by Attorney at Law Magazine and their publisher, Bob Friedman; Attendance, in part, came from our local Legal Marketing Association chapter. It was a great All-American event complete with chili dogs, wings, peanuts, and of course networking.
Even without Crash Davis behind the plate or ‘Nuke’ LaLoosh on the mound, the Durham Bulls were ready to play. The first game of the night was a continuation of last night’s rain-soaked game. The Durham Bulls ended up holding off the Lousiville Bats’ late-game surge, winning 6 to 4. With a brief intermission and a touch of rain, game 2 started. After a 1st inning home run by Louisville, the Bulls followed up in the bottom of the 1st by taking a commanding lead with some solid hitting, including a triple to start the rally. By the end of the first inning, the Bulls found themselves up 4 to 1. The rest of the game ended up being a shutout, giving the Bulls their second victory of the night.
Thanks to the Attorney at Law Magazine for hosting this great event. Let’s Go Bulls!
